Wanted to use my fan art efforts for good, while also refining my skills, so I came up with a suitably geeky idea that pays homage to a game I love while playing off the inherent concepts that compliment the intended message contained within.
Seeing as I knew the assets were only going to be used for stills, I aimed for speed and cutting a lot of corners. Impressed in the most part with Substance Painter's auto unwrap, as well as Zbrush's ZRremesher, which made turn around for these models INSANELY quick, though probably not ideal for a professional pipeline. They still were pretty easy to rig and deform, even with the amount of automation I incorporated.
